The students had a blast playing this game! The students discussed how if you rolled a 6 and a 4 you could do one of two things take the area of 6 x 4 to equal 24 OR you could add the two dice together to equal 10 and use a 5 x 2 array. This was a challenge for a few but I enjoyed how they as a class decided this and I was able to see their thought process and who understood that strategy. The worksheet worked well, but be sure to model how you want them to show their work. You can see from my classroom picture an example of the SmartPals that I use to cut down on laminating and copies. This is a great product that you can get HERE.

Area & Perimeter Game
I found a really great game to practice area and perimeter. The game was a little blah for my taste so I created my own game board and worksheet for my class to use. I also create some challenges on the game board of trees/bushes and a street. I thought the kiddos would enjoy this game board better than plain graph paper. I am really excited to try this with my class to help them in practicing this skill in math. Visit my teacher stores to purchase this game board and worksheet for only $1.50!
